One Eye Open

from the spaces between by Francisca Griffin

/

lyrics

There she goes, crashing through the day - lurching straight ahead, spilling over her edges, getting in her own way. One eye open, the other not.
Her hands betray her, they want to play her for a fool, her feet they take her where she don’t want to go. She doesn’t know what else to do - she doesn’t know. One eye open, the other not.
She sees the world in colour, a swirling, whirling rainbow view, she feels there’s something she missed some time ago - a fragment, a memory, photo faded, torn in two. One eye open, the other not.
